Javelin & Shot Specialist Classes (school years 6–11)
Our Javelin & Shot Specialist Classes are designed for athletes in Years 6–11 who want to develop their throwing skills and improve their performance in the field events.
The session is split into two focused parts, allowing athletes to work on both javelin and shot put. Athletes will learn and refine the key technical elements of each event, including grip, stance, approach, power generation, and release technique.
Through a mix of technical drills, throwing practice, and strength-based exercises, athletes will develop the coordination, power, and control needed to perform confidently in both events.
These classes are also ideal for athletes preparing for the outdoor season and upcoming competitions, helping them sharpen their technique and gain valuable practice in both throws.
What athletes will work on:
Javelin grip, run-up, and throwing technique
Shot put stance, glide/power position, and release
Strength, coordination, and throwing mechanics
Competition preparation and confidence
Our goal is to help athletes build strong throwing fundamentals, improve performance, and feel prepared for competition.
